We are looking for a results-oriented leader to join our team as the Director of Life and Group Benefits. In this role, you will lead a sales team and develop and implement a sales plan to achieve long-term sustainable results.

Position Overview:

In this position, you will leverage your insurance industry expertise to develop and implement winning strategies that strengthen our risk management offerings for existing and new clients, utilizing Life and Group Benefits Insurance solutions. You will collaborate with senior leaders and utilize lead-generation programs to drive long-term, sustainable growth. Your leadership and guidance will be instrumental in fostering the continued success and expansion of the department.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • As a senior member of the organization, you foster and support our culture as an industry leader that cares about its clients and people.
  • Using both Life and Group Insurance solutions, you will develop and implement a strategy to offer additional risk management solutions to personal and commercial clients.
  • You will have sound knowledge of the life and group insurance industry and their compliance requirements.
  • Building a high-performing department results from creating and nurturing a culture of leadership and accountability.
  • As a strategic thinker, you will seek out innovative ways to grow the business.
  • Create a positive and inspiring environment that will influence and guide others to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Promote open, honest, and ongoing sharing of ideas and information.
  • Coaching and monitoring performance and providing feedback regular, appropriate and constructive feedback.
  • Provide essential support to the sales team to secure new clients and maintain existing relationships.
  • Offer assistance and support to the advisor team in various operational and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of leads, meetings, and other pertinent sales-related information.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and skill development to enhance sales and support capabilities.

Qualifications: 

  • The successful candidate will have experience in leading both Life and Group Benefits teams and is known as a sales leader.
  • Ideally, the candidate will have a university degree supported by Industry designations such as but not limited to Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU).
  • You are known for your business acumen, adhering to a strong compliance culture and ethical standards.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities to engage with team members and clients.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a focus on understanding and addressing the needs of clients to build lasting relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize activities effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, adjusting to evolving priorities and challenges.
  • Basic proficiency in using digital tools, including email and other sales-related software.
