Provincial Health Plan

Your provincial health plans give basic coverage, such as family doctor’s expenses or trips to the emergency room. However, personal Health Insurance is more comprehensive and can help cover costs that the government plan doesn’t. It can help cover hospital accommodations, emergency ambulance services, and health practitioners like massage therapy.

Requirements for Applicants

Applicants and dependent(s) must be permanent Saskatchewan residents with valid provincial health coverage.

Conversion Plans

If you decide to leave your employer or know your workplace benefits are about to end, you can purchase a Conversion Plan to avoid interruption of coverage. However, you must apply within 60 days of leaving your workplace plan so your health, prescription drugs, dental, and travel benefits can continue uninterrupted. Apply after the 60 mark, and you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
