Frequently Asked Questions
Is rodent damage covered by my trailer insurance?
While SGI has paid out claims for rodent damage in the past, the best way to determine if there is coverage for an open claim is to discuss your specific situation with an adjuster. You can contact SGI toll-free at 1-844-TLK-2SGI (1-844-855-2744), and an adjuster will guide you through the process of filing a claim. Please keep in mind that all rodent claims are subject to your policy deductible.
How do I choose the right declared value for my trailer?
Your declared value should represent the current fair market value of your trailer (what it would cost to buy a similar unit today). It is important to update this value every few years. If you set it too low, you may not receive enough in a total loss; if you set it too high, you could be paying for coverage you can’t actually use.
Can I get replacement cost coverage on my camper?
Currently, 5-year replacement cost coverage is only available for motorhomes through Sandbox Mutual. For towable trailers and campers, coverage is typically based on Actual Cash Value or your Declared Value.
