Community Involvement

Brokers Care Campaign 2024

The Company That Cares About Making an Impact in Our Community.

Through sponsorships, donations, and volunteer work, our community involvement is dedicated to positively impacting our local area.

See below to learn more about some of the causes that we support:

Mother Teresa MS ←

We are so proud of our relationship with Mother Teresa Middle School and feel privileged to be involved in their various initiatives. Mother Teresa Middle School offers a comprehensive and unique learning experience that prepares students for success in high school, post-secondary and beyond.

Across the province, the achievement gap between Indigenous students and students from low-income families continues to widen. An extended day, summer enrichment program, mentorship opportunities, focus on cultural programming, Jesuit formational education and Graduate Support Program contribute to the “MTMS Difference” for our students and their families.

#BrokersCare ←

The #BrokersCare Campaign is the Insurance Brokers Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS) annual initiative. Their goal is to help raise awareness and show support for the importance of mental wellness in our communities.

The funds from purchasing a t-shirt go towards not-for-profit organizations, registered charities, schools, or other community-based initiatives and partnerships. Each year, the #BrokersCare campaign chooses a different theme to aid the communities across the province and help vulnerable communities.

The donations raised went towards funding youth mental health crises, enhancing learning opportunities, providing comfort and care to sick kids, and eliminating food insecurity.

KidSport SK Challenge ←

KidSport is a children’s charity that assists children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sports programs so that all kids can play. The goal of KidSport is to provide these children with the opportunity to achieve physical, social, intellectual and moral development through participation in sports.

Suppose all children have the opportunity to play, learn self-respect, gain self-confidence, adopt active and healthy lifestyles, and realize dreams through sports. In that case, these children may have a better chance of becoming contributing members and leaders in our communities.

United Way Campaign ←

For more than 75 years, the United Way Regina has been working to make our city great for everyone. They invest in the most effective local programs to create opportunities and change, improve lives, and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action to improve all Regina citizens’ social and economic conditions.

HWI holds an annual United Way Corporate Campaign to raise funds to support the United Way Regina.

Habitat for Humanity ←

Habitat for Humanity Canada brings communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership. With the help of volunteers and Habitat homeowners, local Habitats in every province and territory help build and rehabilitate safe, decent and affordable homes, including single-family and multi-unit houses.

The Habitat model of affordable homeownership bridges a gap for low-income working families by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own Habitat home and build a better life. Harvard Western Insurance employees love to trade in their desks for a hard hat and a hammer and help make a difference in our community.

Supporting Truth & Reconciliation.

We have been very fortunate to have our staff be invited to Mother Theresa Middle School each year to immerse ourselves and the students as they learn about the teachings and traditions of the Indigenous culture.

From scraping buffalo hide, the rhythmic traditional drumming, and learning intricate beadwork to the delicious bannock making, these moments weren’t just activities; they were bridges of understanding, strengthening our commitment to the journey of Truth and Reconciliation.
